English is the international language, and naturally the most widely usedlanguage in the world. The number of its speakers reaches to about 1 billion and500 thousand people. English is the native language of nearly 400 million people worldwide. Estimates of the number of people who use English as a second language ranges from among 470 million to over a billion people depending on whether they only speak this language (no writing) or they are completely fluent. It is interesting to know that the number of people whose mother tongue is not English but they speak it is 3 times higher than those whose native language is English. Some of the countries that speak the English language:

  • Web pages: There are more than one billion (1,000,000,000) pages of information on the Internet! It is amazing that just by learning a language;you access a large number of information across the Internet.
  • Books: Statistics show that 89% of books are published in English. It means that in every subject, from all over the world, you can find books on anysubject desirable.

  • News: Consider International television channels including BBC and CNN. They publish the news much faster and more professional. You can access them anywhere in the world.
